The Detective Branch (DB) of police has detained five suspected members of a computer hacking group from Rampura’s Banasree area in Dhaka. The detainees are -Khorshed, Abul Bashar, Md Arifur Rahman, Md Iqbal Hossain Opu and Md Hafizur Rahman Tushar. In a briefing on Monday, Dhaka Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner (media wing) Masudur Rahman said: “We detained them on Sunday for their alleged involvement in illegally transferring money from bKash accounts. “During interrogation, they confessed about a loot of Tk13,50,000. They used SIM card cloning technology and illegal bKash accounts and transferred the money to 90 illegal SIM cards.”Police seized illegal bKash SIM cards, electronic modem and different software from the detainees.
