A police officer said they detained five people in connection with the deaths and were questioning them. Five members of a debt-ridden family were found dead at their house in Karnataka’s Tumakuru district Sunday evening. The deceased were identified as Garib Saab, 42, his wife Sumayya, 35, and their children Hazira, 14, Subhan, 10, and Muneer, 8. The police suspected that the husband and wife might have killed their children first and later ended their lives in a suicide pact.
