5 injured as ambulance, train collide in Manila


Five persons, including a pregnant woman, were injured when the ambulance they were riding slammed into a train of the Philippine National Railways (PNR) on Friday afternoon, according to the Manila Traffic Bureau. The pregnant woman was identified as Marilou Vallas Sayco, 35. Others who were injured were Jaime Pagas, 41; Perla Vizcaya, Sally Marcelo and Eduardo Marcelo, the bureau said. The ambulance, with plate number NI-4366, was marked Barangay 162 Llano Ambulance, Caloocan City, the bureau said. It was crossing Blumentritt Street corner Rizal Avenue at 3:45 p.m. when it collided with the south-bound train that came from Tutuban.
