5 hospitals being set up for people of capital, surrounding areas: CAAD minister


ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Capital Administration and Development Authority (CAAD) Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhary on Tuesday apprised the Senate that around five hospitals including a cancer treatment centre were being set up for the people of the federal capital and its surrounding areas. Responding to various supplementary questions during the question hour, the minister said the hospitals were being constructed in Bhara Kahu, Tramri Chowk, Sihala and Rawat. The cancer hospital was being set up with an estimated cost of Rs5 billion at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PMIS), he added. The minister said that the Tramri Chowk and Bhara Kahu hospitals would have 500 and 200 beds facility, respectively. He said these hospitals were additional to the expansion of the Polyclinic, Federal Government Hospital and the National Institute of Rehabilitative Medicine (NIRM).
