Earlier, police had claimed that New JMB is a faction of the JMB and its members are the followers of Islamic State. Dhaka Metropolitan Police Deputy commissioner (media) Masudur Rahman confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune. Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit (CTTC) detained them with explosives and detonators on Thursday night. He said details regarding the matter will be disclosed in a press briefing at DMP Media Centre around 11am on Friday.
