According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), the last time the country’s positivity rate was less than 5 per cent was on July 24. This pushes the total number of cases to 1,212,809. The country has recorded a downward trend in daily cases, with active cases going under 80,000 for the first time since early August this year. The government measures to stem the Covid-18 spread seem bearing fruits with the positivity rate plunging to 4.78 per cent. This has taken the total number of Covid-19 vaccine doses donated by the United States to Pakistan to 15.7 million, the US Embassy in Islamabad said in a tweet.
