The International Organization for Migration (IOM) said on Monday that 497 migrants were rescued or intercepted at sea and returned to Libya during the period from 3 to 9 April. IOM confirmed that 217 migrants, including 15 women and 3 children, were returned on April 8 to the port of al-Zawiya, in addition to 120 others who were disembarked in the Maya region in a separate operation. IOM indicated that 84 migrants were returned on April 9 to al-Zawiya, while about 72 migrants, including 12 women and 13 children, were returned to Tripoli.
