48 Myanmar nationals arrested for intruding into Bangladesh

Members from the coast guard raided Saint Martin’s Island, on the northeastern part of the Bay of Bengal, on Monday and found the intruders hiding there, police say. "We made a drive to Saint Martin and arrested the 48 people along with a cargo boat, six wooden boats, 18 cattle, and a huge load of Gorjon wood," said Media Officer of Chittagong Coast Guard (East) Lt M Hayat Ibne Siddik. The arrestees were handed over to the Saint Martin police station for illegally entering Bangladesh and a case was also filed in this regard, the official added. The identities of the arrestees were not revealed by the law enforcers.
