Forty-two young golfers booked slots to a San Diego, California junior tournament at the completion of the 2018 PAL-JGFP Junior World Summer Qualifier held last May 3 to 6 at the Pradera Verde Golf and Country Club in Lubao, Pampanga. Dylan Thomas Castillo won the boy’s Class C (11-12 years old) with 314, 10 strokes ahead of Santino Pineda with 324. Miko Granada dominated boy’s Class D (9-10 years old) with 237 but will skip the junior world tourney in San Diego for a two-month golf scholarship in Australia. Celine Marie Abalos (246) ruled girl’s Class D followed by Stevie Umali (255), and Alessandra Luciano (314). Veteran national team member Yuka Saso is also seeded in Girls Class A (15-18 Years Old) by finishing second last year.
