KUALA LUMPUR: Assessments on the implementation of higher order thinking skills (Hots) in the Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) have revealed that 40 per cent of schools are in excellent or good rating category. Deputy Education Minister Datuk P. Kamalanathan told the Dewan Rakyat today that 282 schools from 141 districts had been assessed based on results of Hots implementation in UPSR 2016. "One primary school and one secondary school from every district have been assessed by the school inspectorates and ministry's quality control unit. "Of the schools, 113 or 40.07 per cent of them have been rated excellent or good. The ministry's goal for Hots, he said was for it to be implemented effectively, with at least 90 per cent of all primary and secondary schools achieving an excellent rating in its impact assessment.
