Speaking during a session on the AfCFTA podcast, Dr Amany Asfour said the policy would ensure that products available on African soil are purchased from African suppliers rather than imported from outside the continent. Dr Asfour used two commodities to illustrate a stark picture of Africa’s position in global value chains.
