more-inThe death of a four-year-old child of fever came as a shock to residents of West Tambaram, where he lived, besides raising some panic in the area. V. Tejeswaran died at the Institute of Child Health (ICH) here on Thursday evening. The child, hailing from Manthopu area in Tambaram municipality, was admitted with high fever to the Government Hospital at Chromepet on Wednesday. Any incidence of fever should be brought to the notice of the Public Health department officials for quick action, they said. Municipal officials said that a door-to-door campaign was being carried out by staff from the Public Health department and municipal health staff for the past 15 days.
