A defamation case has been filed against four individuals, including three journalists, for making allegations against the Comilla-7 MP Dr Pran Gopal Datta of opposing his party in the last union parishad elections. According to the case statement, Abu Mucha Majumder, president and former chairman of Mohichail Union Awami League, made false allegations against Dr Pran Gopal. Moreover, Majumder alleged that MP Pran Gopal had sought a donation of Tk20 lakh to secure his victory. Upazila Awami League President Mutakim Ashraf Titu said that for the past two years, the party's Trinamool workers have expressed discontent toward MP Pran Gopal. Dr Pran Gopal asserted that the people of Chandina will not fall for these false narratives.
