A police spokesman told The Hindu that a police vehicle was fired upon by militants near Zeewan in the outskirts of Srinagar on the highway in the evening during a routine patrol. "Four injured policemen were shifted to Srinagar hospital. The condition of one the injured policemen is critical," said the spokesman. Lashkar-e-Taiba claimed responsibility for the attack.
