The arrestees were identified as Motahar Hossain, 21, Amir Hossain, 30, Atiar Rahman Paiya, 35 and Biplob Hossain alias Limon, 19. Speaking to Dhaka Tribune, Patgram police station Officer in Charge (OC) Sumon Kumar Mohant said that police along with DB conducted several raids on Friday and Saturday and arrested the accused from different areas of the district. With these fresh arrests, a total of 44 people have been arrested in the three cases so far. On October 29, Abu Yunus Md Shahidunnabi Jewel, 50, was beaten to death by an angry mob on the Burimari Union Parishad premises in Patgram upazila of Lalmonirhat. The other case, filed by Abu Sayed Nawaz Nishat, chairman of Burimari Union Parishad, mentioned the names of 50 people and another hundred unnamed for vandalising and setting fire to the union parishad office with the same police station.
