The construction work of the four-lane Dhaka-Tangail Highway has been suspended from Tuesday to ease vehicular movement ahead of Eid. Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader ordered the authorities concern to stop the construction work while visiting the construction work of the four-lane in Gazipur’s Targach area. He said: “I have taken the decision to ease the sufferings of the homebound passengers and to control the traffic congestion during Eid.”However, he did not mention when the construction work will resume. The minister also urged his party leaders and activists to help police control traffic congestion during the festival. Bangladesh will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr next week.
