At least four people were killed when a sand-laden truck overturned and crushed them at Jhalmalia banana market in Puthia upazila of Rajshahi on Thursday morning. Confirming the incident, Rajshahi district police spokesperson Additional Superintendent of Police Sabina Yasmin said the banana market is located beside the Rajshahi–Natore highway at Jhalmalia. She said a sand-laden dump truck heading towards Natore overturned in the morning due to dense fog, killing four people on the spot. Meanwhile, one injured person was initially taken to the Puthia Upazila Health Complex and later referred to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital due to the severity of his injuries. The RMCH police outpost said the injured person has been admitted to the hospital, where treatment is ongoing.
