4 fishermen rescued off Bongao, Tawi-TawiFour fishermen were rescued while another remains missing after a steel-hulled fishing boat sunk off Moro Gulf in Mindanao on Wednesday, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) confirmed yesterday. Four of its five crew were rescued by the fishermen from F/B Ramona-8, while the Special Operations Group of the Coast Guard Station (CGS) Bongao was still searching for the other crew member. PCG advised all water crafts transiting the area to be on the look out for the victim and render necessary assistance if sighted and report this to the nearest PCG station. According to the PCG, L/B Mylene-92 was on a fishing venture, along with its mother boat F/B Ramona-8, last Wednesday when it was hit by huge waves and strong winds 153 kilometers off the coast of Bongao, Tawi-Tawi. However, search operations for the missing fisherman was temporarily halted due to rough weather and sea conditions.
