Southern tip of Tamil Nadu especially Kanyakumari district suffered severe damage in the morning. By 10 am, Ockhi made its presence felt in Kerala coast as well. However, there are also reports that some fishermen have landed at Tamil Nadu coast and returning to the state by road. The Met has forecast heavy rains for Friday in southern Tamil Nadu and Lakshadweep and also parts of Nicobar Islands. The Met office advised fishermen not to venture into the sea along and off south Tamil Nadu and south Kerala coasts and Lakshadweep Islands.
