IMEG chief Col. Ronald Lee said Kelvie Panansang’s wife filed a formal complaint against the four policemen for kidnapping her husband and demanding P500,000 for his release. The four policemen arrested him and demanded P500,000 for his immediate release. Unknown to the lawmen, Panansang’s wife sought the assistance of IMEG, which staged an entrapment operation. Sinas said the four policemen were arrested after receiving the marked money in the precinct at Baseco, Tondo. Lee ordered the four policemen charged with kidnapping and extortion before the Manila prosecutor’s office.
