4 Egyptians nominated for Sheikh Zayed Book Award


FILE - Sheikh Zayed Book Award LogoFILE - Sheikh ZayedCAIRO – 26 December 2018: The Sheikh Zayed Book Award announced on Dec. 26 the nominated translated works in the Long Novel category.The competing works amount to a total of 107, 12 of which were selected for the award. Four Egyptian translators were among the nominees for the award.The winning writings were translated from several languages; English, French and German. The novel was published by the National Council for Culture, Arts and Literature.The second novel nominated for the Sheikh Zayed Book Award is "Gene - an Intimate History" by Siddhartha Mukherjee. The book was published by the National Centre for Translation.Furthermore, nominated works for the Sheikh Zayed Book Award translated from German to Arabic include “Arab Jews in Israel”, a visionary book by Omar Kamel and translated by Sherine al-Qabbani from Egypt. The book was published by the Bibliotheca Alexandrina publications in 2018.
