FILE – Ghada Wali honors NGOs who won excellence award in 2016CAIRO – 18 December 2018: Professional Development Foundation is set to announce on Tuesday, Dec. 18 four non-governmental organizations who won the Excellence Award for the good influence the NGOs managed to have on society.The Excellence Award Competition takes place for the third year in a row under the auspices of the Ministry of Social Solidarity to highlight the importance of improving NGOs and engaging them in building and developing the Egyptian society.The competition aims at honoring successful models and helping NGOs maintain excellency in the efficient implementation of projects to achieve sustainable development.The best four civil society organizations will be awarded a financial award and certificates of excellence. The organizations that passed the evaluation stages will also be awarded in-kind prizes and certificates of appreciation.The assessment criteria of the Professional Development Foundation include the NGO's rate of innovation, the impact of its projects or services on the community, the number of beneficiaries of its programs, the planning and implementation stages.Mohamed Farouk Hafeez, CEO of the PDF,said that the main objective of the award is to honor associations with successful businesses and nurture them as a main component of development in the Egyptian society. "NGOs are the driving force behind a comprehensive development. They are the strong foundation that makes societies and economies thrive," Hafeez stated.The PDF was established as a non-governmental and non-profit association in November 1998 with the aim of activating the work in the field of human resources development. The PDF launched the Excellence Award for Civil Society Organizations in 2016.
