MANILA, Philippines–A 4.3 magnitude earthquake struck off Agno town in Pangasinan before dawn Tuesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology reported. The quake, which hit at 4:23 a.m., centered 101 kilometers southwest of Agno at a depth of 26 kilometers. It was followed by five light tremors that occurred in the vicinity. ADVERTISEMENTAbout 30 minutes later, a magnitude 4 earthquake occurred 109 kilometers southwest of Agno. The Philippines sits on the Pacific Ring of Fire where continental plates collide causing frequent seismic and volcanic activity.
