A magnitude 4.0 earthquake hit Eastern Samar on Saturday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said. According to a Phivolcs report, the quake struck east of the municipality of San Policarpo at 3:45 a.m. The tremor had a depth of five kilometers and was of tectonic origin, report said. ADVERTISEMENTThere were no damages reported and aftershocks will not be expected, Phivolcs said.
