36 more Bangladeshis rescued from Tunisia coast


At least 36 more Bangladesh citizens were rescued at the Tunisian coast of the Mediterranean sea on Thursday, according to Bangladesh diplomats in Libya. Asaduzzaman Kabir, charge de affairs of the Bangladesh embassy in Libya, reached Tunisia to assess the need of the rescued Bangladeshi people. Bangladesh embassy in Libya holds the concurrent responsibility as there is no mission in Tunisia. There were several African people also in the boat travelling to reach Europe while their journey was managed by traffickers. At least 1,200 migrants died in the Mediterranean last year, most of them crossing the central part of the sea, according to the United Nations.
