36 migrants found in hidingKANCHANABURI: Police arrested 36 individuals, including a local man, for harbouring undocumented foreign workers. Pol Capt Amnat Sinuan, deputy chief of Highway Police 6, on Saturday led a joint operation with immigration officers, military intelligence, regional security personnel, and local administration in tambon Pak Phraek, Muang district, following reports of illegal migrants hiding at a private residence. On arrival, officers found 35 foreign nationals inside the house, none of whom were able to produce any identification or communicate in Thai. The residence's caretaker, identified as Min Oo, 45, admitted the workers were delivered by truck early on April 3 and they were waiting to be transported to Malaysia. Min Oo faces charges of harbouring illegal migrants, while the foreign nationals will be charged with illegal entry.
