The Government has announced a $36.8 million action plan to boost the West Coast. Simon BridgesThe Tai Poutini West Coast Economic Development Action Plan, launched at the Arahura Marae in Hokitika on Thursday morning, follows last year's West Coast growth study. "The Government is committed to supporting the West Coast economy to grow and become more resilient," Economic Development Minister Simon Bridges said. Ms Upston said whitebaiting was iconic to the West Coast and there are only a few commercial whitebait operations. "These improved cycle links will help grow the tourism opportunities that are developing along the West Coast, such as the Wilderness Trail."
