Why do people stay with the Inquirer? ADVERTISEMENT“I stayed for love of LJM, who inspired us,” said 30-year service awardee and daydesk editor Christine Avendaño, referring to the late editor in chief Letty Jimenez-Magsanoc. “Here, I found colleagues who became lifelong friends,” Anelle Tayao-Juego of the Business section said of one of her discoveries in her decadelong stay in the Inquirer. “Inquirer taught me to be part of something bigger than myself,” said five-year awardee Kathrine de Villa of Research. Whatever their reason, this year’s service awardees—50 in all—know they’ve found a good thing, and are not letting go that easily.
