The Kiambu government has allocated 34 per cent of its budget to the Health department to improve services. In a report seen by the Star, the county government, in its inception, found health services in Kiambu neglected. Most medical facilities were understaffed and inadequately equipped, it says. It has created specialty centres, including trauma, paediatrics and renal units. The reports says the county government has taken measures to ensure sustainability of the health programmes.
