The TMMK cadre said that the Muslims have been offering prayers for many years in the Wakf mosques in Kondalampatti and Seelanayakkanpatti areas in the city. Later, the cadre attempted to enter the Collectorate, when the police took them into custody. The district administration had not taken any action. The district administration and the police had also not taken initiative to remove the hurdles created by a few vested interests which came in the way of construction works. The TMMK also complained that a few people had encroached upon the burial ground, also a Wakf property, in Old Suramangalam area.
