AT least 30 passengers were hurt after two buses collided on the southbound lane of Epifanio de los Santos (Edsa)-Timog service road on Thursday morning. In an initial investigation by the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Traffic Enforcement Unit, a Baclaran Metro Link bus with plate number ACC 8732 hit a VIL 5000 bus with plate number ABE 2876 at 7:50 a.m.Mark Hugo, driver of the Baclaran Metro Link bus, said he lost his brakes and crashed into the rear portion of the VIL 5000 driven by Erwin Respicio while some of his passengers went down. The Philippine Red Cross-Quezon City chapter reported that it dispatched two of its ambulances and took 14 individuals to the Quezon City General Hospital after the incident. The rest of the passengers who sustained minor injuries were rushed to the East Avenue Medical Center. The incident caused a slowdown in traffic on EDSA-Timog.
