MANILA, Philippines — At least 30 commuters were hospitalized following a collision involving two buses along EDSA in Quezon City yesterday morning. A dump truck carrying gravel, driven by Diomar Bombot, 26, hit a cargo truck containing deformed steel bars while plying the road towards Montalban. Police said the dump truck’s brakes allegedly failed and the vehicle pushed the cargo truck toward the other side of the road. The cargo truck hit the concrete fence of a church. The dump truck also went over the center island and damaged a street lamp.
