The Sacramento Kings have a lot of work to do if they want to regain the status they once had as a Western Conference powerhouse. Moreover, the Kings haven’t even sniffed anything resembling playoff contention since then and have averaged under 28 wins per season over that stretch. That is an absolute shame because the Kings have a great deal of young talent on their roster. Sacramento is a young team that needs veteran leadership and exactly that was added over the summer. The veteran coach was dismissed at season’s end and Rondo opted to sign with the Chicago Bulls for $28.1 million over two years.
