At least three children aged one to three died and 24 others were hospitalised in a case of suspected food poisoning in Telangana’s Adilabad district on Wednesday, officials said. They immediately shifted all the affected people to Narnoor Primary Health Centre, where a three-year-old girl Sidam Chinnu Bayi succumbed. After initial treatment at the health centre, doctors shifted the patients to the government hospital in Utnoor, a bigger town. Some of the patients were also being shifted to Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), a super speciality hospital in Adilabad, for better treatment. When contacted, Adilabad district medical and health officer Dr Rajeev Raju said the condition of 24 patients, including 15 children, admitted in RIMS was stable.
