3 people lost their lives while 60 others sustained serious injuries in a tragic accident that occurred in Marsabit County along the Kambinye-Kargi Road late Saturday. The accident involved a lorry ferrying close to 100 passengers to a wedding at Kargi Village in Marsabit. The lorry reportedly veered off the road, resulting in the tragic ejection of passengers and subsequent fatalities. Four passengers lost their lives while the three who sustained serious injuries were rushed to Naivasha Level 4 Hospital. Between January and June 2023, the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) recorded a total of 2,124 road accident fatalities.
