Three activists of the BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami’s wing student Islami Chhatra Shibir were detained with a large number of Molotov cocktails from Dhaka’s Kafrul on Sunday. A case was filed against them with Kafrul police station, said Assistant Sub-Inspector Wahedul Islam. Tenjil is the joint general secretary of BNP’s Kafrul unit while Niyom is a leader of the Swechchhasebak Dal. Their detention came three days before a Dhaka court is scheduled to deliver a verdict on BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in a corruption case. “We recovered three plastic bags from them, each containing 30 Molotov cocktails,” he said.
