ZAMBOANGA CITY , Philippines — Three Abu Sayyaf bandits and a Marine trooper were killed in an encounter in Patikul, Sulu before dawn yesterday. One of the slain bandits was believed to be the leader of the group, according to Capt. The military withheld the names of the slain and wounded troopers until after their families are notified. The wounded soldiers were taken to Camp Gen. Teodulfo Bautista Station Hospital in Busbos, Jolo for treatment. Dela Vega gave assurance that the operations against the Abu Sayyaf would continue during the holidays.
