A magnitude 3.1 earthquake was reported Wednesday evening at 8:26 p.m. in Valle Vista, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The earthquake occurred one mile from Hemet, two miles from San Jacinto, and seven miles from Beaumont. The quake occurred at a depth of 1.9 miles. In the past 10 days, there have been two earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
