299 Filipinos repatriated from Middle East amid tensionsMANILA, Philippines —Almost 300 Filipinos repatriated from the Middle East arrived in the Philippines on Thursday, March 5, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) reported. In a statement on March 5, the DMW said that 299 Filipinos landed at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 from Dubai. The DMW provided the returning Filipinos with financial assistance, along with other forms of government support. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. recently advised Filipinos in the Middle East to stay put and seek shelter, as repatriation efforts have stalled due to the ongoing US-Israel-Iran conflict. Marcos noted that at least 1,416 Filipinos have requested repatriation from the Middle East.
