A 29-year-old Barrie woman is in serious condition after her car was hit by a wheel that flew off a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction on Hwy. 400 near Hwy. Kerry Schmidt said the collision occurred around 8:30 a.m. when a white vehicle travelling north on Hwy. The wheel bounced across the median and struck a black vehicle heading south, partially caving in the windshield and roof and injuring the driver. The driver of the struck vehicle has been airlifted to a trauma centre, Schmidt said.
