28 areas coronavirus rates falling as 16 places plunged into stricter lockdown

In today's update, some areas have been boosted by a significant decline in the case rate across the latest seven-day period. Exeter has seen its case rate decline from 199.4 - or 262 cases in total - to 140.8 - or 185 cases in total. While Camden and Dover have remained at exactly the same case rate. The figures, for the seven days to October 25, are based on tests carried out in laboratories - pillar one of the Government's testing programme - and in the wider community - pillar two. This is up from 576.5 cases per 100,000 in the seven days to October 18.
