27,000 PNP personnel deployed for SEA Games – The Manila Times

The Philippine National Police (PNP) will deploy 27,440 personnel to secure the 30th Southeast Asia (SEA) Games, which the country will host from November 30 to December 11 this year. Police personnel would also be deployed in the venues in New Clark City, Metro Manila, Laguna, Tagaytay, Subic and Bulacan. Meanwhile, Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana said threats to the SEA Games are unlikely as authorities have set up precautionary measures. “Although we do not see the likelihood [of threats during SEA Games], it’s better to be prepared,” Lorenzana said at the sidelines of the send-off ceremony of soldiers, athletes and coaches, as well as security personnel for the SEA Games. The SEA Games will open on November 30 at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan.
