0 shares ShareTweetPinAddis Ababa, December 23, 2020 (Walta) – 253 illegal Ethiopian migrants who were attempting to cross the sea to Yemen were safely returned back to Ethiopia after being rescued from an overcrowded boat in Djibouti. Embassy of Ethiopia in Djibouti on its social media page, confirmed 98 of the migrants were women. The Embassy pointed out that the lives of the migrants would have been at risk if the boat hadn’t been intercepted because of overcrowding. The rescued migrants were repatriated while the four human traffickers of foreign citizens were put on trial. It is expressed, for the last nine months, the coast guard have rescued over one thousand Ethiopians from similar illegal human traffickers.
