Speaking during the 69th Ghana Independence Day celebration at the Jubilee House, the president said he had assented to the 24-Hour Economy Authority Bill, paving the way for businesses and industries to operate in multiple shifts. Parliament passes 24-Hour Economy Authority Bill“My fellow countrymen and women, I'm pleased to announce that I have assented to the 24-hour economy authority bill, and it has now become law,” he stated. According to the president, the reform is expected to transform Ghana’s economy by enabling continuous production and expanding employment opportunities in several sectors. Beyond the 24-hour economy initiative, the president said the government is also working to expand opportunities for women entrepreneurs through the establishment of a Women’s Development Bank.
