This is to eliminate entirely the increasing number of fatalities associated with road crashes. According to the commission, 214 school children were killed in accidents from January to September 2017. The children who were either knocked down or died in road crashes were among the 1534 recorded in 2017. He concluded that, “In this country the majority of people who died as a result of road crashes are not passengers; they are ordinary people who walk by the roadside.”
