The event, themed “Kidney Health for All: Caring for People, Protecting the Planet,” aims to increase awareness about kidney disease, promote early detection, and encourage preventive healthcare practices within underserved communities. Organised in collaboration with Nephro Ghana, Firm Health Ghana Foundation and GhanaWeb, the outreach will run from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm at Awate, serving surrounding communities including Awate Todzi, Awate Agame, Awate Dzifadze, and Awate Tornu. Free Health Screening ServicesParticipants will receive free onsite medical screening services including:● Blood Urea and Creatinine testing (kidney function assessment)● Blood Glucose testing● Blood Pressure checksHealthcare professionals will also provide education on kidney disease prevention, risk factors such as hypertension and diabetes, and practical lifestyle measures to support long-term kidney health. Addressing a Growing Health ConcernChronic kidney disease remains a growing public health concern in Ghana, often linked to unmanaged hypertension and diabetes.
