More than 170,000 students who are awaiting university placement will all get enrolled in public universities. She was speaking when she appeared before Public Investments Committee on Education and Governance. Committee chair Wanami Wamboka said the process to stop funding students in private universities has started. The committee has been keen to do away with the policy that saw government place students in private universities. Details show that so far, private universities have received about Sh9 billion since 2016 when the programme started.
