MANILA, Philippines — Cloudy skies and scattered rains will welcome the first day of 2021 due to two weather systems, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration. Isolated light rains are expected over Metro Manila with temperatures ranging from 24 degrees Celsius to 31 degrees Celsius. Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are forecast over Bicol region, Cagayan Valley and the provinces of Quezon. There is no weather disturbance forecast in Mindanao, particularly in Metro Davao, but localized thunderstorms are expected to prevail. Residents are warned of flash floods and landslides following moderate to heavy rains or severe thunderstorms.
