2019: YVAN seeks coalition of young presidential aspirants

As the preparations for Nigeria’s next general election gather momentum, over 20 young aspirants have so far indicated interest to contest the presidential seat in the 2019elections. It is, however, believed that the multiplicity of the number of persons vying for the number one position will be the first hurdle and a major disadvantage to the clamour for youth governance in Nigeria. The Young Visioneers’ Association of Nigeria (YVAN), speaking through its national president, Ezekiel Temitope Oladimeji, during an interview in Ibadan, Oyo State, advised all such young presidential aspirants to join forces and come together to achieve a common goal, which should be to ensure that a young person emerged as president in the 2019 presidential election. He further urged all Nigerian youths to remain united and steadfast in pursuit of their desired objectives, moreso as the country could only have one president at a time. Oladimeji added that we do not only need a proactive President to have a better Nigeria, but also competent lawmakers and capable young intelligent people to serve in the presidential cabinet, saying it was imperative that the youth gave room for a harmonious dialogue ”because a stitch in time saves nine.”
