WOMEN in Gombe State, cutting across tribal and religious affiliations, Thursday marched from Emir Palace through major streets in the state capital, canvassing peace and peaceful conduct in the forthcoming general elections. While speaking with Journalists shortly after the rally the North-East Coordinator of the Women Situation Room in Nigeria, Hajiya Zariyatu Abubakar Hashidu, said that whenever there is violence, women and children are at the receiving end. According to her, “it is the women who would suffer at the end of the day. ALSO READ: Women group endorses Atiku for PresidentHajiya Zariyatu explained that the groups comprise Christians and Muslims, adding that when a situation concerns women, they all come together as one indivisible entity. He said that government would not achieve its goal in the atmosphere of violence, chaos and anarchy, adding that their administration will support all that women were doing.
